Jim's sports background includes a career as a pro mountain bike racer in the mid '80's. In the 90's Jim was one of the pioneers of the Alaskan "Extreme" ski scene with close to a hundred first descents; and one of the top competitors from 1991 to 1994. Those experiences led to a career in heli ski and film guiding.
It also resulted in a five year consulting position with Fila Sport USA,
where Jim managed one of the ski industries first "Freeride" teams.
During this period Jim worked closely with Fila's athletes, marketing, sales,
manufacturing , and senior management personnel. In the late '90's Jim also
participated in Downhill Mountain Bike racing; being named to the U.S. 2000
Masters National Downhill Team. And just a couple years ago he competed
in the grueling Transalp Challenge in Europe; completing 400 miles and 70,000
vertical feet in eight days. Currently Jim works part time as the Safety
Coordinator for Teton Gravity Research. His work with TGR primarily consists
of safety and logistics on TGR's Big Mountain film segments in Alaska and
Canada; and on their latest project, "Adrenaline X", for NBC.

Moving into consulting positions with companies like Fila and Teton Gravity Research, Jim
found the need to develop a number of high tech presentations, web sites,
and printed materials. This has since resulted in Jim's being involved in
a number of web developement and marketing projects for the Outdoor Sports
Industry . This all culminated in the formation of Glissemedia. A degree
in Engineering from Montana State University, and 20 years experience in
the heavy and highway construction industry; further gives Jim a diverse
background from which to develop projects in Technology and Industry. |
At Glissemedia we strive to balance the elements of graphic design, usable
technology, and basic marketing principles. This balance results in Web
and Multimedia content that has strong visual impact, relevant content and
message, and is within the current technological limits. We use a strong
background in Sports and Technology to make these areas Glissemedia's strongest
suit. |
